I ask the question because of a article I just read.In it,the writer tells a story happening at London.A Korean was quarrelling with some English boys.And when one said to him,"You are a Chinese!"The Korean ran and return home,crying to his foster mother who are the writer's neghbor,"I'm not a Chinese!".

Why didn't the English boy say to the Korean one"You are a Japanese!"or"You are a asian" for insulting?The only interpretation is that "Chinese" is a insulting word in English!
